The Peeblean: Friday 25 April 2025
SBC/Live Borders Sport and Leisure review, public meetings planned, new bus timetables, community days out, Glentress 7 returns, Tweed Theatre, Peebles Orchestra seeks violinists
While searching for something else, I found a chat thread on a Peebles FB group from 2012 where folk were adapting song titles or artists to make them appropriate for the town of Peebles or other places in the area.
In a week where some serious stuff is being discussed about the future of our community spaces, I thought we could maybe do with some fun as well, so here’s a couple of our favourites from that earlier thread to give you the idea.
Jumping Scott Brash - The Rolling Stones (credit to Margaret Bell)
Elcho Beach - Martha and the Muffins (credit to Kenny Vannan)
What about something by Cross Kirk Cobain or Tontine-a Turner.
Have a go at coming up with some and send us your best ones - comment below or on our FB page.
